Meriah Lysistrata Crawford teaches research and writing at Virginia Commonwealth University, and is a private investigator, a writer, and an editor. She’s published stories in several genres, as well as essays, a variety of scholarly work, and a poem about semicolons.
Meriah has been an editor for many years, having worked for local monthly publications, a small-town weekly newspaper, a home improvements magazine, and as a technical editor for Microsoft. Her experience also includes work as a horseback riding instructor, library assistant, programmer, prepress tech, graphic designer, software tester, systems analyst, project manager, and she has even been paid to put M&Ms into little baggies for bingo. As a private investigator, Meriah has handled a wide range of cases, including thefts, patent infringement, counterfeiting, missing persons, background investigations, stalking, and murder.
